R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, on October 7, 1980, the City of Beaumont and
Jefferson County entered into an option for the purchase by the
City of three tracts of property known as the TB Hospital
Property; and,
WHEREAS, the City desires to exercise its option for
the purchase of Tract 1 as described in said option agreement;
and,
WHEREAS, the Beaumont Art Museum will pay to the City
the purchase price of the property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute
the option to purchase Tract 1 as described in the option
agreement between Jefferson County and the City of Beaumont dated
October 7, 1980 for the sum of $85,000.
Section 2 .
That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to enter into a lease with the Beaumont Art Museum for a term of
50 years, leasing the TB Hospital property to the Beaumont Art
Museum for the purpose of developing a new art museum on the
property .
