R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, on October 1, 1980, the Department of
Transportation instituted on a ninety (90) day trial basis Bus
Route No . 6, the Amelia/Delaware Route; and,
WHEREAS, because of low ridership, the Department of
Transportation has recommended that Route No . 6 , the
Amelia/Delaware Route, be discontinued; and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation has recommended
that transit fares be increased;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT Bus Route No . 6, the Amelia/Delaware Route, be eliminated;
and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a public hearing on the
proposed transit fare increase be held by the City Council at 2 : 00
p.m. on March 10 , 1981, in the City Council Chambers at City
Hall, Beaumont, Texas.
