WHEREAS, bids were received for an annual contract for
furnishing 1-inch meters, 1 1/2-inch meters, and 2-inch meters
for the Water Utilities Department; and
WHEREAS, Carlon Meter Company submitted a bid for the
1-inch meters in the amount of $55.10 each, the 1 1/2-inch meters
in the amount of $132.95 each, and the 2-inch meters in the amount
of $168.60 each; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid
submitted by Carlon Meter Company is the lowest and best bid and
should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid of Carlon Meter Company for the water meters is
hereby accepted by the City of Beaumont, and the City Manager is
hereby authorized to execute a contract for the term of one year.
