ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FINDING CERTAIN STRUCTURES TO BE PUBLIC NUISANCES AND ORDERING THEIR DEMOLITION, RENOVATION AND REMOVAL; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1. The following structures are hereby ordered to be demolished and removed by the City of Beaumont on account of the owners thereof and such expense of demolition and -removal shall be assessed as a special tax against the property upon which the building is situated. The following structures were heretofore declared to be a public nuisance in violation of Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City: 1. 3750 Brandon 7. 2425 Harriot 2. 806 College(Commercial) 9. 1830 Highland 3. 1941 College (Front Commercial Structure) 10. 3902 Highland (Commercial) 4. 4365 Ector 13. 5270 Midford 5. 3950 Estelle 16. 1010 Pipkin 6. 4270 S. 5th 17. 3162 Prairies Section 2. In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following described buildings demolish and remove said structures within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this ordinance: 19. 1435 Beech 38. 2740 Mashed-O 23. 995 Brockman 39. 2403 Park 24. 7749-65 Broussard Road 40. 2411 Park 25. 7775 Broussard Road 41. 2435-45 Park(Duplex) 26. 1408 College (Awning) 42. 1675 Pauline 27. 5760 Comstock 43. 2625 Pine 28. 1040 Delaware 44. 240 E. Section 3. The following structures have been declared to be dangerous structures and public nuisances. The structures are hereby ordered to be demolished by the City without further order by the City Council unless the owner of each of the structures enters into a work program with City staff which includes a plan and a time period within which the structures will be repaired to City code and unless the work required by the work program is commenced within thirty (30) days after the date of this ordinance: 11. 2250 Laurel 20. 1445 Broadway 14. 1010 Orange 21. 2275 Broadway 15. 1495 Pennsylvania 22. 2283 Broadway(Garage Apartment) 18. 2875 Arthur 59. 2363 Hazel Section 5. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance and, to such end, the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 6.
