HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 98-13 ORDINANCE NO. 13 ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 29 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT TO REMOVE THE RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT, AND THE REQUIREMENT OF OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE IN THE CITY FOR TWO YEARS ASSOCIATED WITH A CHAUFFEUR'S DRIVER'S LICENSE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1. That Chapter 29, Section 29-51(b) of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 29-51(b). Chauffeur's license. Each applicant for a chauffeur's license shall be a citizen of the United States and at least eighteen (18) years of age prior to the filing of his application for a chauffeur's license. Section 2. That if any section, subsection, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
