ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 95-
64 BY GRANTING A 12-MONTH TIME EXTENSION FOR
A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT ALLOWING A ONE CHAIR
BARBERSHOP IN A HOME IN AN RCR (RESIDENTIAL
CONSERVATION AND REVITALIZATION) DISTRICT AT
1511 WALL STREET.
WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Beaumont issued a Specific Use Permit
to allow a one chair barbershop in a home in an RCR (Residential Conservation and
Revitalization) District at 1511 Wall Street, Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, Section 30-26(G) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont
provides that a Specific Use Permit shall be valid for a period of two (2) years from the
date of issuance and shall become null and void unless construction or use is substantially
underway during said two (2) year period or unless an extension of time is approved by
the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, Augustine Meza requested an extension of time for a period of an
additional twelve (12) months to complete the six foot fence around his property; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the granting of a twelve (12)
month extension of time for the Specific Use Permit is in the best interest of the City of
Beaumont and its citizens, subject to the hereinafter described conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That Ordinance 95-64 granting a Specific Use Permit to Augustine Meza, his legal
representatives, successors and assigns for a one chair barbershop in an RCR
(Residential Conservation and Revitalization) District in a home located at 1511 Wall
Street, as described on Exhibit"A" attached hereto and made a part hereof for all purposes
be, and it is hereby, amended to extend the time for the continuance of the Specific Use
Permit from October 24, 1997 to October 24, 1998.
Section 2.
That the Specific Use Permit shall be, in all other respects, subject to all of the
applicable regulations and conditions contained in Ordinance 95-64, as approved by the
City Council of the City of Beaumont on October 24, 1995.
