ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FINDING CERTAIN STRUCTURES TO BE PUBLIC NUISANCES AND ORDERING THEIR DEMOLITION AND/OR REPAIR; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Beaumont hereby finds and declares the buildings located at: 2221 Avenue E 2510 Houston (Garage Apartment) 2020 Broadway (Garage Apartment) 2196 Leight 2020 Broadway (Shed in Rear) 180 Manning 2005 Delaware 1795 Milam 1895 Franklin (Front) 1046 Miller 1895 Franklin (Garage Apartment 330 Parkway 4245 Gladys 610 Pollard 1304 Grand 630 Pollard 1320-22 Grand 2230 Poplar 1328-30 Grand 2376 Sabine Pass 2350 Grand (Church) 1915 Texas 1772 Herring Aly 856 Trinity 2510 Houston (Front) 1582 Wall to be a public nuisance in that said buildings violate Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont and are for want of repairs, or by reason of age or dilapidated condition, likely to cause or promote fires that would endanger persons or property. Section 2. In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following described buildings demolish and remove said structures within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this ordinance: 2221 Avenue E 2510 Houston (Garage Apartment) 2020 Broadway (Garage Apartment) 2196 Leight 2020 Broadway (Shed in Rear) 180 Manning 2005 Delaware 1795 Milam 1895 Franklin (Front) 1046 Miller 1895 Franklin (Garage Apartment 330 Parkway 4245 Gladys 610 Pollard 1304 Grand 630 Pollard 1320-22 Grand 2230 Poplar 1328-30 Grand 2376 Sabine Pass 2350 Grand (Church) 1915 Texas 1772 Herring Aly 856 Trinity 2510 Houston (Front) 1582 Wall Section 3a. In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following described buildings either demolish, repair or initiate a work program for repair of said structure within ninety (90) days of the effective date of this ordinance: 875 Cartwright 4396 Sullivan Section 3b. In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following described buildings either demolish, repair or initiate a work program for repair of said structure within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this ordinance: 1030 Schwarner 1040 Schwarner 1050 Schwarner 1060 Schwarner 5300 Seale Road Section 4. The City council hereby finds and declares the following structures to be a public nuisance and authorizes that they be immediately demolished on account of the owners thereof and such expense of demolition and removal shall be assessed as a special tax against the properties upon which the building is situated: 11665 Carpenter Road 2379 Pope 638-40 Euclid 2096 Utica Section 5. The following structures are hereby ordered to be demolished and removed by the City of Beaumont on account of the owners thereof and such expense of demolition and removal shall be assessed as a special tax against the properties upon which the buildings are situated. The following structures were heretofore declared to be public nuisances in violation of Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City: 1149-51 Bolivar 2177 Foch 2115 Hemlock 4060 Highland 390 Langham Road 2475 McFaddin 3855 Preston (Shed & Corral) 4115 Woodlawn 4045 Willie Mae Section 6. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 7. That any person who violated any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
