ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FINDING CERTAIN
STRUCTURES TO BE PUBLIC NUISANCES AND
ORDERING THEIR DEMOLITION AND/OR REPAIR;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR A
PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That the City Council of the City of Beaumont hereby finds and declares the
buildings located at:
3975 Adilade 3960 Octavia
1210-20 Archie 5465 Phelps Road
6765 Bigner Road 1157 Powell
3140 Cooke 5280 Seale Road (Shed in rear)
675 Dixie Drive 1709 Texas/802 - 806 Catalpa
1170 Glasshouse 2970 Texas
2635 Hazel 2288 Victoria (Front)
3965 Houston 2288 Victoria (Rear Apartment)
545 Jackson 1438 Wall
1315 Madison 2560 Washington Blvd.
1325 Madison
to be a public nuisance in that said buildings violate Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont and are for want of repairs, or by reason of
age or dilapidated condition, likely to cause or promote fires that would endanger persons
or property.
Section 2.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the

following described buildings demolish and remove said structures within thirty (30) days
of the effective date of this ordinance:
3975 Adilade 3960 Octavia
1210-20 Archie 5465 Phelps Road
6765 Bigner Road 1157 Powell
3140 Cooke 5280 Seale Road (Shed in rear)
675 Dixie Drive 2970 Texas
2635 Hazel 2288 Victoria (Front)
3965 Houston 2288 Victoria (Rear Apartment)
545 Jackson 1438 Wall
1315 Madison 2560 Washington Blvd.
1325 Madison
Section 3.
The City Council hereby authorizes the following structures to be immediately
demolished on account of the owners thereof and such expense of demolition and removal
shall be assessed as a special tax against the properties upon which the building is
situated:
780 E. Gill 5770 Meadowview
3301 Grand 7996-98 Tram Road
Section 4.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
following described buildings either demolish, repair or initiate a work program for repair
of said structure within 45 (45) days of the effective date of this ordinance:
1170 Glasshouse

Section 5.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
following described buildings either demolish, repair or initiate a work program for repair
of said structure within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this ordinance:
1709 Texas/802 - 806 Catalpa
Section 6.
The following structures are hereby ordered to be demolished and removed by the
City of Beaumont on account of the owners thereof and such expense of demolition and
removal shall be assessed as a special tax against the properties upon which the buildings
are situated. The following structures were heretofore declared to be public nuisances in
violation of Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City:

2260 Carroll 2240 Laurel
1895 Cartwright 805 Peach
985 Church 1880 Pine
1690 Gill 1888 Pine
2580 Hemlock
Section 7.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the
application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this
ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are
declared to be severable.

Section 8.
That any person who violated any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
