ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIFIC USE
PERMIT TO ALLOW A CHURCH IN AN AREA ZONED RCR
(RESIDENTIAL CONSERVATION AND REVITALIZATION)
DISTRICT FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1685 PARK
STREET IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON
COUNTY, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Beaumont desires to issue a specific use
permit to Robert D. Walker, Pastor of the Iconium Missionary Baptist Church and Rodney
Landry, Funeral Director and Manager of Carroll-Wallace to allow a church in an area
zoned RCR (Residential Conservation and Revitalization) District on 1.038 acres of land,
more or less, being Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 2 and the east 17' of Lot 3, Block 8, Jersey Farm
Addition, with additional off-site parking on Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 9, Jersey Farms
Addition, containing 0.76 acres, more or less, as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, in
Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the issuance of such specific use
permit is in the best interest of the City of Beaumont and its citizens, subject to the
hereinafter described conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That all conditions necessary for issuance of a specific use permit have been met
and a specific use permit to allow a church in an area zoned RCR (Residential
Conservation and Revitalization) District on 1.038 acres of land, more or less, being Lots
6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 2 and the east 17' of Lot 3, Block 8, Jersey Farm Addition, with additional off-
site parking on Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 9, Jersey Farms Addition, containing 0.76 acres,
more or less, as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, in Beaumont, Jefferson County,
Texas is hereby granted to D. Walker, Pastor of the Iconium Missionary Baptist Church
and Rodney Landry, Funeral Director and Manager of Carroll-Wallace, their legal
representatives, successors and assigns for that certain tract shown on Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and made a part hereof for all purposes subject to the special condition
that an acceptable parking lot plan showing 75 parking spaces and three on-site disabled
parking stalls be provided and the requirement of additional landscaping is hereby waived.
Section 2.
That the specific use permit herein granted is expressly issued for and in
accordance with each particular and detail of the site plan attached hereto as Exhibit "B"
and made a part hereof for all purposes.
Section 3.
Notwithstanding the site plan attached hereto, the use of the property hereinabove
described shall be in all other respects subject to all of the applicable regulations
contained in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, as amended.

Approval subject to the following condition: (1) Provide an acceptable parking lot plan showing 75 parking
spaces and three on-site disabled parking stalls. This parking shall be provided as part of Phase 1. The Planning
Director also recommended a waiver of any additional landscaping as required by Section 30-31.
