ORDINANCE NO.
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING
CERTAIN STREETS AND ALLEYS WITHIN A FOUR BLOCK
AREA IN THE BLANCHETTE SECOND ADDITION IN THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT portions of Royal Street, Avenue "B", and alleys in Blocks 8 and 9, Blanchette
Second Addition, in the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, as shown on Exhibit
"A" attached hereto, are hereby vacated, abandoned, and that title to such property shall
revert to and become the property of the persons entitled thereto, as provided by law:
Abandon
Royal Street, a 60' wide right-of-way, from the west right-of-way line
of Avenue "A" to the east right-of-way line of Avenue "C", a distance
of 660'; and,
Avenue "B", a 60' wide right-of-way, from the north right-of-way line
of Craig Street to the south right-of-way line of Blanchette Street, a
distance of 660'; and,
The 20' x 300' alley in Block 8, Blanchette Second Addition, said alley
extending from the north right-of-way line of Royal Street to the south
right-of-way line of Blanchette Street; and,
The 20' x 300' alley in Block 9, Blanchette Second Addition, said alley
extending from the north right-of-way line of Royal Street to the south
right-of-way line of Blanchette Street; and,
The 20' x 300' general utility easement lying across Block 15,
Blanchette Second Addition, said easement extending from the north
right-of-way line of Craig Street to the south right-of-way line of Royal
Street.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the City hereby retains the following utility easements
The 20' x 300' general utility easement lying across Block 16,
Blanchette Second Addition, said easement extending from the north
right-of-way line of Craig Street to the south right-of-way line of Royal
Street; and,
A 30' x 160' sanitary sewer easement described as follows: For point
of beginning, begin at the northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 16,
Blanchette Second Addition, said point being in the south right-of-way
line of the 60' wide Royal Street; thence north a distance of 30' to the
centerline of Royal Street to a point for corner; thence west along the
centerline of Royal a distance of 160' to a point for corner in the east
right-of-way line of Avenue "C"; thence south along the east right-of-
way line of Avenue "C" a distance of 30' to a point for corner being
the northwest corner of Lot 12, Block 16, Blanchette Second Addition;
thence east along the south right-of-way line of Royal Street a
distance of 160' to the place of beginning; said easement being
retained in part of the abandoned Royal Street as an easement for
sanitary sewer purposes only, and containing 0.110 acres of land.
