ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FINDING CERTAIN STRUCTURES TO BE PUBLIC NUISANCES AND ORDERING THEIR REPAIR OR DEMOLITION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Beaumont hereby finds and declares the buildings located at: 4515 Abilene 1312-14 Gray 2410 Blanchette (apts.) 1012 Harrison 1153 Bolivar 1016 Harrison 1915 Cable (garage apt.) 1020 Harrison 1925 Cable 3325 Hollywood 2595 Cable 3925 Houston 4180 Cleveland 4301 Ironton 1180 Delaware 1310 Isla 4164-68 Ector (garage apt.) 835 Jefferson (commercial) 1425 Evalon 1705 M.L.King Pkwy South (shed) 1255 Gladys 3003 M.L.King Pkwy South (commercial) 1925 Glasshouse 1054 Long 3562 Goliad 1150 Magnolia (commercial) 3572 Goliad 5686 Mel Sha Lane 1319-21 Grand 2048 Milam 2196 Neches 570 Schwarner 2395 Orange 2315 Tyler 985 Parry 2040 Utica 1972 Pennsylvania 2288 Victoria (front) 5191 Roberts 2288 Victoria (rear apt.) 3260 Roland 3155 Westmoreland to be a public nuisances in that said buildings violate Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont and are for want of repairs, or by reason of age or dilapidated condition, likely to cause or promote fires that would endanger persons or property. Section 2. In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following described buildings demolish and remove said structures within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this ordinance: 4515 Abilene 1312-14 Gray 2410 Blanchette (apts.) 1012 Harrison 1153 Bolivar 1016 Harrison 1915 Cable (garage apt.) 1020 Harrison 1925 Cable 3325 Hollywood 2595 Cable 3925 Houston 4180 Cleveland 4301 Ironton 1180 Delaware 1310 Isla 4164-68 Ector (garage apt.) 835 Jefferson (commercial) 1425 Evalon 1705 M.L.King Pkwy South (shed) 1255 Gladys 3003 M.L.King Pkwy South (commercial) 1925 Glasshouse 1054 Long 3562 Goliad 1150 Magnolia (commercial) 3572 Goliad 1319-21 Grand 2048 Milam 2196 Neches 570 Schwarner 2395 Orange 2315 Tyler 985 Parry 2040 Utica 1972 Pennsylvania 2288 Victoria (front) 5191 Roberts 2288 Victoria (rear apt.) 3260 Roland 3155 Westmoreland Section 3. The following structures are hereby ordered to be demolished and removed by the City of Beaumont on account of the owners thereof and such expense of demolition and removal shall be assessed as a special tax against the properties upon which the buildings 2 are situated. The following structures were heretofore declared to be public nuisances in violation of Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City: 1545 Avenue G 2260 Irving 976 Bonham 735 Lincoln 978 Bonham 2748 E. Lucas (garage apt.) 3145 Brenham 2750 E. Lucas (rear) 1755 Brooklyn 3340 Magnolia 2795 W. Cedar 2110 Nora 4040 Cleveland 892 North (apts.) 8727 College (commerical) 3375 Rivers Road 1948 Delaware 7550 Tram Road 1007 Harriot 3960 Usan 2627 Hazel 1666 Washington Blvd. (garage apt.) Section 4. In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following described building either demolish or repair said structure within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this ordinance: 5686 Mel Sha Lane Section 5. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. 3 Section 6. That any person who violated any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
