ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIFIC USE
PERMIT TO ALLOW A HELISTOP AT THE NORTHWEST
CORNER OF LIBERTY AVENUE AND FIFTEENTH STREET
FOR ST. ELIZABETH HOSPITAL IN AN AREA ZONED GC-
MD (GENERAL COMMERCIAL-MULTIPLE FAMILY
DWELLING) DISTRICT, IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Beaumont desires to issue a specific use
permit to St. Elizabeth Hospital to allow the operation of a helistop in an area zoned GC-
MD (General Commercial-Multiple Family Dwelling) District, being Lots 19, 20, 21, 22, the
east half of Lot 18 and part of lot 7, Block 28, Jarrette Addition, as shown on Exhibit "A"
attached hereto, in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the issuance of such specific use
permit is in the best interest of the City of Beaumont and its citizens, subject to the
hereinafter described conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That all conditions necessary for issuance of a specific use permit have been met
and a specific use permit to allow the operation of a helistop in an area zoned GC-MD
(General Commercial-Multiple Family Dwelling) District, being Lots 19, 20, 21, 22, the east
half of Lot 18 and part of Lot 7, Block 28, Jarrette Addition, as shown on Exhibit "A"
attached hereto, in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas is hereby granted to St. Elizabeth
Hospital, its legal representatives, successors and assigns for that certain tract described
on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof for all purposes, subject to the
following conditions:
1) Final approval of the U. S. Department of Transportation, Federal
Aviation Administration, Southwest Region;; and
2) Installation of a 100 lb. wheel unit fire extinguisher which shall be on
site at all times.
3) The helistop may only be used in the event the primary heliport becomes
temporarily unserviceable
Section 2.
That the specific use permit herein granted is expressly issued for and in
accordance with each particular and detail of the site plan attached hereto as Exhibit "B"
and made a part hereof for all purposes.
Section 3.
Notwithstanding the site plan attached hereto, the use of the property hereinabove
described shall be in all other respects subject to all of the applicable regulations
contained in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, as amended.
