BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to sign applications and any
required amendments to the 108 loan applications and to provide any required information
to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; and providing an effective
date.
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont, Texas is a Texas Home Rule City possessing
the legal authority to apply for and accept the Federal Grant described as the Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program; including Section 108 Loans; and,
WHEREAS, the program will be conducted and administered in conformity with the
Federal Legislation and Regulations referred to in the Community Development Act; and,
WHEREAS, the citizens of Beaumont will be furnished adequate information
concerning the 108 Projects; and,
WHEREAS, the views of the citizens will be solicited and obtained through public
hearings; and,
WHEREAS, the citizens will be given adequate opportunity to participate in the
development of the City's application for the 108 Loan; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont is willing to implement the assurances provided
in the application;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT
THAT the City Manager of the City of Beaumont is hereby authorized to sign and submit,
as the official act of the City, to the Department of Housing and Urban Development
(HUD), an application for Section 108 Loan funds and amendments thereto and all
understandings and assurances contained therein, and directing the City Manager to
provide information to HUD as needed; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT any authorized representative of HUD or the
Comptroller General is hereby granted the right of access to examine all records, books,
papers or documents related to the loan application.
