BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
WHEREAS, the Western Professional Hockey League desires to locate a franchise
of such league in the City of Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, it is proposed that the Coliseum at Fair Park be renovated for hockey
purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the proposal would include a lease agreement with terms and
conditions to provide rent and other revenues designed to offset the cost of the
improvements to the Fair Park Coliseum during the term of the lease;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to proceed to negotiate terms and
conditions of a lease with the Western Professional Hockey League and retain an architect
related to the design and preparation of plans and specifications necessary for
improvements to the Coliseum; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if negotiations are successful, the City Manager be and
is hereby authorized and directed to present the terms and conditions of the lease
agreement and the plans for renovation and improvements to the Fair Park Coliseum to
the City Council.
