WHEREAS, bids were received Monday, August 3, 1998 for furnishing all materials, labor,
equipment and supplies to install a 1,200 kW emergency generator and construct a building for
its enclosure to be located at the Water Treatment Plant on Pine Street; and,
WHEREAS, Placo, Inc. submitted a bid in the amount of$487,000 and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Placo, Inc. in the
amount of $487,000 should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Placo, Inc., for furnishing all materials, labor, equipment and supplies
to install a 1,200 kW emergency generator and construct a building for its enclosure to be located
at the Water Treatment Plant on Pine Street be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized to execute a contract with
Placo, Inc. in the amount of $487,000 for the project.
