WHEREAS, on Monday, October 13, 1997, sealed bids were received for a contract
to secure a primary book vendor for the Beaumont Public Library System; and,
WHEREAS, Baker&Taylor, Inc., Charlotte, North Carolina, submitted a bid in the
amount shown below [the total estimated annual expenditure is $300,000];

WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Baker & Taylor,
Inc. to be the primary book vendor for the Beaumont Public Library System should be
accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Baker & Taylor, Inc., to be the primary book vendor for the
Beaumont Public Library System in the annual estimated amount of $300,000 in the
amounts shown above be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the day of
