WHEREAS, on Monday, August 25, 1997, sealed bids were received for an annual
contract to provide Portland cement treated base, F.O.B. Plant Site, to be used by the
Streets and Drainage Division for the repair and maintenance of driveway culverts and
storm sewers; and,
WHEREAS, both APAC-Texas, Inc. and Transit Mix Concrete & Materials Company
of Beaumont, Texas submitted identical bids in the amount of$15.75/ton; and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bids submitted by both APAC-
Texas, Inc. and Transit Mix Concrete & Materials Company of Beaumont, Texas in the
amount of$15.75/ton, should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids submitted by APAC-Texas, Inc. and Transit Mix Concrete & Materials
Company of Beaumont, Texas for an annual contract to provide Portland cement treated
base, F.O.B. Plant Site, to be used by the Streets and Drainage Division for the repair and
maintenance of driveway culverts and storm sewers in the amount of $15.75/ton be
accepted by the City of Beaumont.
