RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, the lawsuit of Reginald Sorrell v City of Beaumont et al has been
discussed in an Executive Session properly called and held; and,
WHEREAS, the Council desires to authorize the settlement of the lawsuit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Attorney be, and he is hereby, authorized to settle the lawsuit of Reginald
Sorrell v. City of Beaumont et al in the amount of Sixteen-Thousand ($16,000) dollars.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the day
of 1997.

COMMENT :
The plaintiff in the above-referenced case have agreed to settle this lawsuit in the amount
of Sixteen Thousand Dollars ($16,000.00), within the amount discussed in executive session. I
hereby request that the council adopt a resolution authorizing payment in that amount to plaintiff
Reginald Sorrell and his attorney Steven Ray Thomas.
