WHEREAS, on Monday, June 9, 1997, sealed bids were received for an annual
contract to provide caustic soda which the City's Water Production Plant uses for the
treatment of municipal drinking water; and,
WHEREAS, DX Industries, Inc. of Houston, Texas submitted a bid in the amount
of$31,000.00 as follows:
UNIT PRICE
ESTIMATED ANNUAL USAGE* PER DRY TON TOTAL PRICE
200 Dry Tons $155.00 $31,000.00
*Quantities stated are estimates and for bid purposes only
and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by DX Industries,
Inc. of Houston, Texas in the amount of$31,000.00, should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by DX Industries, Inc. of Houston, Texas for an annual contract
to provide caustic soda which the City's Water Production plant uses for the treatment of
municipal drinking water in the amount of$31,000.00 be accepted by the City of Beaumont
and the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract for such project.
