WHEREAS, on September 10, 1997, the City Council of the City of
Beaumont, Texas, awarded a contract to Excavators and Constructors, Inc. in the amount
of$500,986.18 for construction of 30" and 20"water line improvements in the South Park
area to serve the Southeast Beaumont area; and
WHEREAS, during the course of the project, it was determined that
quantities of unit price bid items to provide for the additional piping, casing, and necessary
appurtenances for completion of the project would have to be adjusted [total increase of
$7,100.44], thus increasing the contract amount to $508,086.62.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized, to execute a change order for
$7,100.44 with final payment of $78,582.40 thus increasing the contract amount to
$508,086.62 to Excavators & Constructors, Inc. for construction of 30" and 20" water line
improvements in the South Park area to serve the Southeast Beaumont area
