WHEREAS, on December 17, 1996 in Resolution No. 96-299City Council awarded
a bid to Olympic International Trucks in the amount of $70,161.42 for the purchase of one
(1) cab and chassis equipped with a recycling collection body; and,
WHEREAS, Olympic International Trucks withdrew their bid after the order was
placed due to an error in their bid because of a failure to include all costs associated with
the chassis modification; and,
WHEREAS, the second low bidder, Smart's Truck & Trailer Equipment, Inc.,
submitted a bid in the amount of $77,860; and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Smart's Truck
& Trailer Equipment, Inc. should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Smart's Truck&Trailer Equipment, Inc. for the purchase of one
(1) cab and chassis equipped with a recycling collection body in the amount of $77,860
be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the day of
1997.
