ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 26,
SECTION 26-24 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT TO AMEND SCHEDULES A AND D IN
SCHOOL ZONES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
PROVIDING FOR REPEAL AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That Chapter 26, Section 26-24 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont
be, and the same is hereby, amended as follows:
DELETE FROM SCHEDULE A
STREET DIRECTION OF TRAVEL DESCRIPTION
Drennan East & West From a point 80 feet east of the
centerline of Major Drive to the
centerline of Trojan.
Eldridge North & South From a point 45 feet south of the
centerline of McLean to a point 70
feet north of the centerline of
Coburn.
Major North & South From a point 210 feet south of the
centerline of Allison Way to a point
100 feet north of the centerline of
Morgan.
McLean East & West From the centerline of Trojan to a
point 35 feet east of the centerline
of Eldridge.
Trojan North & South From the centerline of McLean to
the centerline of Drennan.
THAT Chapter 26, Section 26-24, Schedule D of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Beaumont be and the same is hereby amend to read as follows:
SCHEDULE D
In accordance with this section and when signs are erected notice thereof, the prima facie
speed limit shall be twenty (20) miles per hour in the following zones between the hours
of 7:15 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. and 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, on school
days.

centerline of McLean to a point 70
feet north of the centerline of
Coburn.
Gladys East & West From the centerline of Dowlen to a
point 120 feet east of the
centerline of Norwood.
Major North & South From a point 210 feet south of the
centerline of Allison Way to a point
100 feet north of the centerline of
Morgan.
McLean East & West From the centerline of Trojan to a
point 35 feet east of the centerline
of Eldridge.
Sarah East & West From a point 250 feet east of the
centerline of Usan to a point 250
feet west of the centerline of
Goliad.
Trojan North & South From the centerline of McLean to
the centerline of Drennan.
Usan North & South From the centerline of West
Virginia to a point 50 feet north of
the centerline of Lela.
Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the
application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should, for any reason,
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this
ordinance, and, to such end, the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are
declared to be severable.
Section 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to the
extent of the conflict only.
Section 4.
That any person who violates any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be punished, as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
