WHEREAS, Council authorization is requested for the City to accept a conveyance
of a sixty foot by thirty foot tract of land, being described as part of Lots 182 and 183, Block
38 of the Original Beaumont Townsite, from Mr. William T. Langham, representative for
the J. B. Langham Estate heirs, for the neotiated value of$7,200.00 for use as part of the
parking facilities for the U. S. Postal Encoding Center as described on Exhibit "A" attached
hereto; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the purpose of said conveyance and
is of the opinion that the acceptance of said conveyance of property is necessary and
desirable and that same should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to accept a deed of conveyance
from Mr. William T. Langham, representative for the J. B. Langham Estate heirs, for a sixty
foot by thirty foot tract of land, being described as part of Lots 182 and 183, Block 38 of
the Original Beaumont Townsite, for use as part of the parking facilities as described on
Exhibit "A" attached hereto, for the negotiated amount of$7,200.00.
