WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont is the sponsor for a Statewide Transportation
Enhancement application under the rules of the Texas Department of Transportation
(TxDOT). The request to the TxDOT is for funding the construction of a hike and bike trail
to be known as the Neches River Hike and Bike Trail and connecting Riverfront Park and
Collier's Ferry Park; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has committed to twenty (20) percent in matching
funds for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City hereby endorses the request of funding from the Texas Department
of Transportation - Statewide Transportation Enhancement Program.
The City recommends this project for "enhancement funding" by the Texas
Department of Transportation.
The City confirms that Statewide Transportation Enhancement Program application
funds will be utilized, in part, to meet local, state and federal codes and regulations
pertaining to ADA, Fire, Safety and Health requirments.
