WHEREAS, on December 18, 1996, the City Council of the City of Beaumont,
Texas, awarded a contract to W. B. Construction, Inc., in the amount of $721,436.45 for
the construction of the Royal Street Drainage Project - Phase 1; and
WHEREAS, during the course of the project, Change Order No. 1 was
approved by Council on July 22, 1997 for$102,695.84. Change Order No.2 in the amount
of $747.50 did not require Council's approval,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 3 is requested in the amount of $22,683.10
to adjust the estimated quantities to reflect the final quantities actually used in the contract
thus increasing the final contract amount to $847,562.89 as described in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized, to execute Change Order No. 3
in the amount of $22,683.10. The project, as stated above, be and the same is herein
accepted and the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to make final payment of
the retainage in the amount of $84,316.70 to be paid to W. B. Construction., Inc.
