WHEREAS, the lawsuit of Christopher Mark Porter, Sr. Individually and as Parent
to Christopher Mark Porter II Deceased v. City of Beaumont and Ronnie Lee
Mickles;Cause No. A-153,889, has been discussed in an Executive Session properly
called and held Tuesday, February 24, 1998; and,
WHEREAS, the Council desires to authorize the settlement of the lawsuit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Attorney be, and he is hereby, authorized to settle all of the claims involved
in the lawsuit of Christopher Mark Porter Sr. Individually and as Parent to Christopher
Mark Porter II Deceased v. City of Beaumont and Ronnie Lee Mickles; Cause No. A-
153,889, in the amount of Three-Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand ($325,000.00) Dollars
in addition to taxable court costs.
