HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 95-22 I ORDINANCE NO. -mac ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 86-51 TO REMOVE THE HC-L (HISTORIC-CULTURAL LANDMARK PRESERVATION DESIGNATION) FROM RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY AT 1835 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY. WHEREAS, City Council approved Ordinance No. 86-51 on May 27, 1986 authorizing an HC-L (Historic-Cultural Landmark preservation Designation) for property located at 1835 Pennsylvania Avenue, being Tax Tract 19, Plat "Q", D. Brown Survey, Ab. 5, Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, containing 0.172 acres, more or less; and, WHEREAS, the owner, Ms. Rose Marie Owens, no longer wishes to have this HC-L overlay designation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1. THAT Ordinance No. 86-51 is hereby repealed and the HC-L (Historic-Cultural Landmark Preservation Designation) be and the same is hereby removed from property located at 1835 Pennsylvania Avenue, being Tax Tract 19, Plat "Q", D. Brown Survey, Ab. 5, Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, containing 0.172 acres, more or less. Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only. I Section 3. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
