ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
88-16 WHICH CALLED A GENERAL ELECTION TO BE
HELD IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT ON THE 7TH DAY
OF MAY, 1988 TO CHANGE THE POLLING PLACE FOR
PRECINCT 13 FROM THE NEW DAY CHURCH TO DUNBAR
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
WHEREAS, on the 16th day of February, 1988, Ordinance
No. 88-16 was passed by the City Council of the City of Beaumont
calling a general election to be held in the City of Beaumont on
the 7th day of May, 1988; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to change the polling place
for Precinct 13 from New Day Church to Dunbar Elementary School;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That Exhibit "A" to Ordinance 88-16 be, and the same is
hereby, amended to change the polling place for Precinct 13 from
New Day Church at 1305 Fulton Street to Dunbar Elementary School
at 820 Jackson Street.
Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 12.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this
