ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE ISSUING AN AMENDED
SPECIFIC USE PERMIT TO ALLOW EXPANSION OF THE
GULF STATES UTILITIES COMPANY EMPLOYEE
TRAINING CENTER AT 4950 PLANT ROAD,
BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, on March 1, 1983, City Council approved Ordinance 83-19 issuing a
Specific Use Permit for an employee training facility in an RCR (Residential Conservation
and Revitalization) District for the property described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and
made a part hereof for all purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the applicant, Gulf States Utilities Company, wishes to add two new
employee classrooms, a new office building and a 72 space parking lot; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Beaumont
considered the issuance of an amended Specific Use Permit to extend the existing specific
use permit for two new employee classrooms, a new office building and a 72 space parking
lot at 4950 Plant Road, Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, to Gulf States Utilities, its legal
representatives, successors, and assigns for that certain property hereinafter described; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the amendment of such specific
use permit is in the best interest of the City of Beaumont and its citizens, subject to the
hereinafter described conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
THAT Ordinance 83-19 be amended by amending the Specific Use Permit to extend the
existing Specific Use Permit for two new employee classrooms, a new office building and a
72 space parking lot at 4950 Plant Road, Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas all as granted
to Gulf States Utilities Company, its legal representatives, successors, and assigns for that
certain tract described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof for all
purposes.
Section 2.
That all conditions necessary for issuance of an amended specific use permit to
expand the existing Specific Use Permit for the above-described property in Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas, in accordance with Section 30-26 and Section 30-40 of the Code
of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont, as amended, have been met and such amendment
is hereby granted, as amended to Gulf States Utilities Company, property owner, its legal
representatives, successors and assigns, for that certain tract described on Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and made a part hereof for all purposes.
Section 3.
Notwithstanding the site plan attached hereto, the use of the property hereinabove
described shall be in all other respects, subject to all of the applicable regulations contained
in Ordinance 83-19 and the regulations contained in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Beaumont, Texas, as amended.
