HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 92-41 ORDINANCE NO. �741 ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS TO AMEND THE PENALTY RANGE FOR THE OFFENSE OF LOITERING FOR PURPOSES OF PROSTITUTION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1. That Chapter 18, Section 18-21 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 18-21. Violation; penalty Every person who violates the provisions of this article shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) nor more than the maximum fine prescribed by Section 1-8 of this Code for each offense. Section 2. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to a particular person, or to a particular set of circumstances, should for any reason be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 3. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 4. That any person who violates any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
