ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FINDING CERTAIN STRUCTURES TO BE PUBLIC NUISANCES AND ORDERING THEIR REPAIR OR DEMOLITION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Beaumont hereby finds and declares the buildings located at: 1840 Sabine Pass 6845 Highway 105 235 Charlotte 1084-86 Grand 1596 Pipkin 1084-86 Grand (Garage Apt) 1108 Ashley 10305 Dusty 1828-30 Sabine Pass 10305 Dusty (Garage) 1840 Sabine Pass (Garage Apt) 3670 Lorilee 965 Lincoln 3645 Lorilee 2053-55 Brooklyn 2226 Beatrice 2053-55 Brooklyn (Shed) 1480 Gill, E 2053-55 Brooklyn (Commercial) 1395 Isla 2236 Washington 1298 Magnolia (Commercial) 2460-62 Euclid 3970 Inez 3230 St. James 3070 Terrell 3670 Edmonds each to be a public nuisance in that said buildings violate Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont and are for want of repairs, or by reason of age or dilapidated condition, likely to cause or promote fires that would endanger persons or property. Section 2. In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2 of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owners or owners of the following - 9.�'-S& 7-ice gV buildings either demolish or repair said structures within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this ordinance: 1840 Sabine Pass 235 Charlotte 1596 Pipkin 6845 Highway 105 1084-86 Grand 1084-86 Grand (Garage Apt) 3970 Inez If such action is not taken, request shall be made that the City Council authorize appropriate City officials to demolish and remove said structures at the expense of the City of Beaumont on account of the owner thereof and such expense shall be assessed as a special tax against the property upon which the buildings are situated. Section 3. In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Sections 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following described buildings demolish and remove said structures within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this ordinance: 1108 Ashley 1828-30 Sabine Pass 1840 Sabine Pass (Garage Apt) 965 Lincoln 2053-55 Brooklyn 2053-55 Brooklyn (Shed) 2053-55 Brooklyn 2236 Washington 2460-62 Euclid 3230 St. James 3670 Edmonds 10305 Dusty 10305 Dusty (Garage) 3670 Lorilee 3645 Lorilee 2226 Beatrice 1480 Gill, E 1395 Isla 1298 Magnolia (Commercial) 3070 Terrell Section 4. The following structures are hereby ordered to be demolished and removed by the City of Beaumont on account of the owners thereof and such expense of demolition and removal •4 shall be assessed as a special tax against the properties upon which the buildings are situated. The following structures were theretofore declared to be public nuisances in violation of Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City: 2815 Concord (Commercial) 660 Sherman 2095 Forrest 660 Sherman (Shed) 1501 Gilbert 255 E. Threadneedle 2025 W. Highland 7960 Tolivar 1097 Lee 2365 Poplar 1273 Liberty 1256 Harrriot (Garage Apt) 2693 Magnolia 1466 Terrell 2267 St. Anthony 2470 Space Section 5. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 6. That any person who violated any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
