ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER
24, SECTION 24-9 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT TO ADD A NEW
SECTION 24-9(d); PROVIDING FOR AUTOMATIC
APPROVAL OF A FINAL PLAT NOT ACTED ON BY
THE PLANNING COMMISSION WITHIN THIRTY (30)
DAYS FROM THE FILING DAYS OF THE PLAT;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING
FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That Chapter 24, Section 24-9 of the Code of Ordinance of the City of Beaumont be,
and the same is hereby amended to add a new section 24-9(d) to read as follows:
Sec. 24-9(d).
The Planning and Zoning Commission shall act on a plat within thirty (30) days after
the date the plat is filed. If the Planning and Zoning Commission fails to act on the
plat within the prescribed period, the Planning and Zoning Commission on request shall
issue a certificate stating the date the plat was filed and that the Planning and Zoning
Commission failed to act on the plat within the thirty (30) day period. The certificate
is effective in place of the endorsement required for the filing of the plat.
Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the
application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason be
held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and
to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.

Section 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to the extent
of the conflict only.
