ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER
28, SECTION 28-21.2 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING
FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That Chapter 28, Section 28-21.2 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read
as follows:
Sec. 28-21.2 Frequency of Collection
Garbage and household trash accumulated at residences shall be collected by the City twice
each week except as herein provided:
(a) Automated Routes. Household trash accumulated in 90-gallon automated
containers provided by the City shall be collected twice a week on
scheduled days except in areas served by recycling routes.
(b) Recycling Routes. In areas served by recycling routes, refuse
accumulated in 90-gallon automated containers shall be collected once
each week on scheduled days and materials suitable for recycling shall
be collected once each week on scheduled days from separate bins
provided by the City. Lawn waste, consisting of grass clippings,twigs,
leaves and the like shall be collected once each week if placed in plastic
bags or other containers at the curbside for collection on the same days
as recycling collections.
(c) Brush and Large Items. Bulk trash collections, including brush, tree
limbs, furniture and other large items such as stoves and refrigerators
shall be collected regularly twice a month on scheduled days.

Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the
application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason be
held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining potions of this ordinance, and
to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 3.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, including conflicting portions
of the City Budget, are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
