ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 23 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT AND IN PARTICULAR THE
NAME OF THAT CERTAIN STREET AS INDICATED UPON THE
OFFICIAL STREET MAP OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, BY CHANGING THE
NAME OF "SHORT STREET" TO "WINFIELD DRIVE" ; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That Chapter 23 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Beaumont, and in particular the official Street Map of the City of
Beaumont referred to in Section 23-1 thereof, be amended to reflect
the change in name of "Short Street" to "Winfield Drive" .
Section 2 .
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set
of persons or circumstances should for any reason be held to be
invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions
of this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and
provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
Section 3 .
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.

On March 27, 1990, the City Council by Ordinance No. 90-14, changed the name of Short Street to
Winfield Drive. This location appears on city section map S. E. 4-4. This street - one block long with
two addresses - lies between Blocks 1 and 2 of the Crockett Addition, Noah Tevis Survey, Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas.
Attached is a copy of a memorandum sent from this office on May 8, 1990, informing certain city
departments of the Council's action on March 27, 1990. Apparently some departments, divisions and
offices of the city, county, public utility companies and various others were not informed of the street
name change.
This memo is for your information and records. Please take whatever action is needed to update, change
or correct your records as may be required.
