ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT TO ADD A NEW SECTION 21-74 ESTABLISHING GRADES, POSITIONS, AND JOB TITLES WITHIN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1. Chapter 21 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont is hereby amended to add a new Section 21-74 to read as follows: 21-74 - The following grades and classifications are hereby created in the Fire Department: (a) Grade I - There shall be ninety-two (92) positions in Grade I, said positions being Firefighters. (b) Grade II - There shall be seventy-four (74) positions in Grade II, said positions to include Fire Engineers, Fire Prevention Investigators I and Assistant Training Officer. (c) Grade III - There shall be forty-one (41) positions in Grade III, said positions to include Fire Captains, Fire Prevention Investigator II, and Supply Officer. (d) Grade IV - There shall be twelve (12) positions in Grade IV, said positions to include District Fire Chiefs, Training Officer, Fire Dispatcher Supervisor, and Fire Marshal. (e) Grade V - There shall be three (3) positions in Grade V, said positions being Deputy Fire Chiefs. (f) Grade VI - There shall be one (1) position in Grade VI, said position being Assistant Fire Chief. Section 2. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason be held to be - qo --'�o 3 - a7 - 90 invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 3 . All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, including conflicting portions of the City Budget, are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
