ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 90-8 WHICH CALLED A GENERAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT ON)THE
5TH DAY OF MAY, 1990, TO AMEND TERMS OF
THE JOINT ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
WHEREAS, on the 13th day of February, 1990, Ordinance No.
90-8 was passed by the City Council of the City of Beaumont calling
a general election to be held in the City of Beaumont on the 5th
day of May, 1990;
WHEREAS, the election will be held jointly with the
Trustee Election of the Beaumont Independent School District; and,
WHEREAS, the Beaumont Independent School District II
Trustee has resigned his office leaving a vacancy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT
Section 1.
That Section 8 of Ordinance No. 90-8 is amended by adding
five (5) additional election precincts to make a total of eighteen
(18) election precincts to be used jointly for the election of
three (3) Trustees for the Beaumont Independent School District.
Section 2 .
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various

portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 3 .
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
