ORDINANCE NO. F d- ?J
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE TAX ROLL
FOR THE CITY OF BEAUMONT; PROVIDING FOR
LEVYING, ASSESSING AND COLLECTING OF AD
VALOREM TAXES FOR THE TAX YEAR 1988;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR
REPEAL.
WHEREAS, on September 27, 1988, the City Council of the
City of Beaumont approved the tax roll submitted by the Jefferson
County Appraisal District and a tax rate in the amount of Fifty-
Four Cents ($.54) per each One Hundred Dollars ($100) of value
for the tax year 1988; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Tax Assessor-Collector
has submitted to the City of Beaumont the certified tax roll for
the City of Beaumont reflecting the application of the adopted
tax rate of $.54 per each $100 of property value located within
the City of Beaumont; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the tax roll
submitted by the Tax Assessor-Collector of Jefferson County
should be approved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That the tax roll submitted to the City Council by the
Jefferson County Tax Assessor-Collector, a summary of which is
attached as Exhibit "A, " reflecting the application of the
adopted tax rate of $.54 per each $100 of property value located

within the City of Beaumont for the tax year 1988 is hereby
approved and adopted by the City of Beaumont.
Section 2 .
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
