BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1 . That the City Council of the City of Beaumont hereby finds and declares the buildings located at: 3124 Waverly 1677 Victoria (Rear) 3395 Edmonds 2370-72 Orange 3520 Pradice 2965 Ave A 3520 Pradice (Garage) 2965 Ave A (Rear) 2125 Hebert 1576 Pipkin 2145 Hebert 4357 Ogden 2145 Hebert (Garage 4353 Ogden 3005 Hebert 1110-20 Stewart 3744 Hebert Alley 1128-30 Stewart 3790 Hebert Alley 1430 Brevis 1195 Washington 2095 Southerland 1355 Maple 2690 Bolivar 2070 Linson 3210 St. James 1540 Linson 3210 St. James (Garage) 2530 Pine 3038 W. Crockett 1515 LaSalle 1295 Grand 1555 LaSalle 1340 Grand 1755 Rivercrest 1833-35-37 Grand 1530 Burt 1910 Grand 525 Hillebrandt 2305 Fillmore 4515 Buffalo 220 S. 13th 3140 Cleveland 3860 Hollywood 1990 Pine 765 Trinity 1364 Orange 1060 IH-10 1677 Victoria each to be a public nuisance in that said buildings violate Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont and are for want of repairs, or by reason of age or dilapidated condition, likely to cause or promote fires that would endanger persons or property. Section 2. In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2 of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Sections 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following buildings either repair or demolish and remove said structures within thirty (30 ) days of the effective date of this ordinance: 2125 Hebert 1195 Washington 1355 Maple 2070 Linson 1755 Rivercrest 525 Hillebrandt 4515 Buffalo 3140 Cleveland 1990 Pine 1364 Orange 1677 Victoria 1677 Victoria (Rear) 2370-72 Orange 1576 Pipkin 4357 Ogden 4353 Ogden 2690 Bolivar 1295 Grand 1833-35-37 Grand 1910 Grand 2305 Fillmore 3860 Hollywood 765 Trinity If such action is not taken, request shall be made that the City Council authorize appropriate City officials to demolish and remove said structures at the expense of the City of Beaumont on account of the owner thereof and such expense shall be assessed as a special tax against the property upon which the buildings are situated. Section 3. In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Sections 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103. 4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or - 2 - owners of the following described buildings demolish and remove said structures within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this ordinance: 3124 Waverly 3395 Edmonds 3520 Pradice 3520 Pradice (Garage) 2145 Hebert 2145 Hebert (Garage) 3005 Hebert 3744 Hebert Alley 3790 Hebert Alley 1555 LaSalle 1540 Linson 2530 Pine 1515 LaSalle 1530 Burt 2965 Ave A 2965 Ave A (Rear) 1110-20 Stewart 2095 Southerland 1128-30 Stewart 3210 St. James 1430 Brevis 3210 St. James (Garage) 3038 W. Crockett 1340 Grand 220 S. 13th 1060 IH-10 If such action is not taken, the owners of said buildings shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and said buildings shall be demolished and removed at the expense of the City of Beaumont on the account of the owner thereof and such expense shall be assessed as a special tax against the property upon which said buildings are situated and a lien shall exist for such special tax, which lien shall be foreclosed and said expense be recovered by the City of Beaumont as in the case of any other debt and lien in favor of the City of Beaumont. Section 4. The following structures are hereby ordered to be demolished and removed by the City of Beaumont on the account of the owners thereof and such expense of demolition and removal shall be assessed as a special tax against the properties upon which the buildings are situated. The following structures were - 3 - theretofore declared to be public nuisances in violation of Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont: 673 Anchor 1481 Louisiana 1264 Center 1835 Rivercrest (Garage) 1750 Gladys 805 Stanton 1899 Harrison 460 Threadneedle 4196 Kenneth 3540 West 1350 Louisiana Section 5. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 6.
