AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 , SECTIONS
30-24(B) AND 30-33 (B) ( 17 ) OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT CONCERNING
VETERINARY SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL AND
PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That Chapter 30 , Section 33(b) ( 17) of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Beaumont be amended to read as follows:
Section 33(b) (17 ) : Veterinary Services.
Veterinary services and clinics in RCR,
NC, NSC, CSC, GC-MD and CBD Districts shall
be limited to the care of household pets and
shall not provide overnight kennel services,
except on a medical emergency basis.
Overnight kennels and veterinary services not
limited to household pets may be allowed in
CSC, GC-MD and CBD Districts with a Specific
Use Permit. Veterinary services for animal
specialties (SIC 0742 ) may be permitted as an
accessory use to existing kennels (SIC 0752 )
with a specific use permit.
Section 2.
That Chapter 30 , Section 30-24 (b) , Permitted Use Table,
be amended to add the number seventeen (17) to the Special
Condition column for SIC Group Number 075, Kennels.
Section 3.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 4.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
Section 5.
Any person who violates any provision of this ordinance
shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1 -8 of
the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
