ZV- �16 ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 87-57 GRANTING A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT FOR A CHURCH ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3060 DOWLEN ROAD AND DESCRIBED AS 1100 FEET NORTH OF DELAWARE ON THE EAST SIDE OF DOWLEN ROAD, BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS. WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Beaumont issued a Specific Use Permit to the trustees -of the Pinecrest Church of Christ, prospective buyers for a church on property located at 3060 Dowlen Road and described as 1100 feet north of Delaware on the east side of Dowlen Road, Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; and, WHEREAS, Section 30-26 (G) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont provides that a Specific Use Permit shall be valid for a period of two (2 ) years from the date of issuance and shall become null and void unless construction or use is substantially underway during said two ( 2) year period or unless an extension of time is approved by the City Council; and, WHEREAS, the Trustees of the "Pincrest Church of Christ" have requested an extension of time for a period of an additional eighteen ( 18) months to begin construction of the church at 3060 Dowlen Road; and, WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the granting of an eighteen ( 18 ) month extension of time for the Specific Use Permit is in the best interest of the City of Beaumont and its citizens, subject to the hereinafter described conditions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1 . That Ordinance 87-57 granting a Specific Use Permit to the Trustees of the Pinecrest Church of Christ, its legal representatives, successors and assigns for a church on property located at 3060 Dowlen Road, as described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof for all purposes be, and it is hereby, amended to extend the time for the continuance of the Specific Use Permit from July 28 , 1989 to January 28, 1991 . Section 2. That the Specific Use Permit shall be, in all other respects, subject to all of the applicable regulations and conditions contained in Ordinance 87-57, as approved by the City Council of the City of Beaumont on July 28, 1987. �ASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the �0 - day of 1989.
