ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BUDGET OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT FOR THE FISCAL PERIOD
COMMENCING OCTOBER 1 , 1987, AND ENDING
SEPTEMBER 30 , 1988, BY REDUCING THE NUMBER OF
GRADE I POSITIONS AND INCREASING THE NUMBER
OF GRADE III POSITIONS IN THE FIETjD OPERATION
DIVISION OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That the number of allocated Grade I positions in the
Field Operations 'Division of the Beaumont Police Department be
reduced to One Hundred Twenty-Two (122 ) and the allocated number
of Grade III positions in the Field Operations Division be
increased to Thirteen ( 13) .
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the budget of the City of
Beaumont for the fiscal period beginning October 1 , 1987, 1---)e
amended to reflect that the number of Grade I Positions in the
Field Operations Division of the Beaumont Police Department is
One Hundred Twenty-Two (1 22 ) and the number of Grade III Field
Operation Division police officers is Thirteen ( 13 ) .
Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining
portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various portions
and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.

Section 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewi'Ch are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
