ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25,
SECTION 25-57 (A') AND SECTION 25-62 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT
CONCERNING TAX EXEMPTION FOR HISTORICALLY
SIGNIFICANT SITES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That Chapter 25, Section 25-57(a) of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Beaumont be, and the same Is hereby,
amended to read as follows:
Section 25-57 (a) :
Historically significant site in need of tax
relief to encourage preservation means a
structure, together with the land necessary
for access and use of the structure, which is
determined pursuant to the terms o-ff this
article to be in substantial need of
rehabilitation or restoration and located
eithez in the National Register of Historic
Places as contributing to or compatible with
a historic district or be located in a H-C,
historical cultural landmark preservation
overlay district designated by the City of
Beaumont and certified by the Historical
Landmark Commission as being of historic
significance -to the city.
Section 2.
That Chapter 25, Section 25-62 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby,
repealed.
Section 3.
That i-f any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, shoula for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall nog affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the Various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 4.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
