ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 86-75
WHICH ESTABLISHED A CONVENTION AND TOURISM
ADVISORY BOARD AND PROVIDED FOR ITS DUTIES BY
CHANGING THE COMPOSITION OF THE BOARD FOR
FUTURE YEARS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND
PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That Ordinance 86-75 be, and the same is hereby, amended
to provide that, for all appointments made after the effective date
of this ordinance, the Chamber of Commerce representative on the
Convention and Tourism Advisory Board shall be filled by a member
of the Board of Directors of the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that a sixteenth ( 16th)
occupational specialty be added to the Convention and Tourism
Advisory Board, the same to be filled by the paid Economic
Development Executive of the Chamber of Commerce of the City of
Beaumont. The above Economic Development appointment, when made by
the Council, shall be for a term of two ( 2) years.
Section 2 .
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 3 .
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
