ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT IN
REGARD TO HELICOPTERS, HELIPORTS AND HELISTOPS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR
REPEAL AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That Chapter 30, Section 30-4(b) of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby,
amended to add the following definitions:
Section 30-4: Definitions.
Heliport: Any area which is used, or intended for use,
for the landing and take-off of helicopters, and any
appurtenant areas including buildings or other facilities
for activities such as refueling, parking, storage,
maintenance, and repair of helicopters.
Helistop: An area used, or intended for use, for the
landing, boarding, and taking-off of helicopters, which
does not have facilities for such activities as
refueling, storage, maintenance, or repair of
helicopters.
Section 2 .
That Chapter 30, Section 30-24(b) of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby,
amended to add "Heliports and Helistops" under SIC Group 45 -
Transportation by Air, and they are to be allowed only by specific
use permits in the following zoning districts:
A-R Agricultural - Residential District
GC-MD General Commercial/Multiple Dwelling
CSC Community Shopping Center District
CBD Central Business District
C-M Commercial - Manufacturing District
LI Light Industrial District
HI Heavy Industrial District
PD Port Development District
OP Office Park District
PUD Planned Unit Development District
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the " Parking Group"
designation on the Permitted Use Table is to be "41" and in the
"Special Conditions" column the number "16" is to be added.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that Heliports and Helistops, as
defined in Section 30-4(b) , are subject to the requirements of
Section 26-100 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont.
Section 3 .
That Chapter 30, Section 30-33(b) of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Beaumont be amended to add Special
Condition No. 16 to read as follows:
(16) Heliports and Helistops as defined in Section
30-4(b) are subject to the requirements of Section
26-100 of the Code of Ordinances.
Section 4 .
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 5 .
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.

Section 6 .
That any person who violates any provision of this
ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in
Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
