ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT BY
CHANGING THE NAME OF THE DEPARTMENT OF
COMMUNITY FACILITIES TO THE DEPARTMENT OF
CONVENTION FACILITIES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That Chapter 2, Section 2-10 of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby , amended to read as
follows :
Section 2-10:
There is hereby established the Department of
Convention Facilities, the head of which shall
be the Director of Convention Facilities. The
Department of Convention Facilities shall be
responsible for the supervision and management
of the Civic Center Complex, which includes the
Julie Rogers Theatre for the Performing Arts,
the Harvest Club, the YMBL Hall, Fair Park
Arena, and Civic Center and contiguous grounds .
Such department shall also be responsible for
convention and tourism activities. The
Department of Convention Facilities shall
perform such other duties as may be delegated
to it from time to time by the City Manager.
Section 2 .
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 3 .
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
