ORDINANCE NO.
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT TO
INCREASE THE SIZE OF THE LOAN ADVISORY BOARD FROM
FIVE (5 ) MEMBERS TO SEVEN (7 ) MEMBERS; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That Chapter 14, Section 14-76 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby, amended to read
as follows :
Section 14-76:
There is hereby created a Loan Advisory Board to
which loan applications shall be submitted for
approval. The Loan Advisory Board shall be
composed of seven (7 ) members selected from the
community-at-large. The Loan Advisory Board
shall be appointed by the City Council and each
member of such board shall serve a term of two
(2 ) years without compensation.
Section 2 .
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 3 .
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
