ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE RENAMING CEDAR STREET
TO "REVEREND G. W. DANIELS AVENUE/CEDAR
STREET"; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
WHEREAS, a request has been made to the City Council to rename Cedar Street
in honor of Reverend G. W. Daniels; and,
WHEREAS, this request is in compliance with the street renaming policy of the City
of Beaumont in that the name change will honor a person who has made specific
contributions to the cultural, social, religious and political heritage of the City of Beaumont.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That Cedar Street from Fourth Street to M.L.K. Parkway be and the same is hereby
renamed as Reverend G. W. Daniels Avenue/Cedar Street.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 29th day of July,
2003.
