ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE DEALING WITH THE DUTIES
OF THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That Chapter 2, Section 2-18 of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby, repealed.
Section 2 .
That Chapter 2, Section 2-22. 1 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby, amended to read
as follows :
Section 2-22. 1 :
There is hereby established the Department of
Finance, the head of which shall be the
Director of Finance, who shall be the City
Manager. The City Manager may appoint a
Finance Officer to perform the duties of the
office. The Director of Finance or his
designated Finance Officer shall have the
charge of accounting, auditing, purchasing,
collections, cash and investment management,
budget policy and administration, reporting,
and central stores. The Finance Officer shall
report to the Director of Finance and shall
perform such other duties as may be delegated
from time to time by the Director of Finance.
Section 3 .
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the

remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 4 .
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
