ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
85-69 PASSED ON JULY 9, 1985 ORDERING THE
DEMOLITION OF A STRUCTURE LOCATED AT 873-75
POWELL; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND
PROVIDING REPEAL.
WHEREAS, on July 9, 1985, City Council passed an ordinance
ordering the demolition of a dangerous structure located at 873-75
Powell; and,
WHEREAS, on February 11, 1986, a contract was awarded to
Manuel' s Tree Service for the demolition and removal of the
dangerous structure; and,
WHEREAS, at the request of Council members, a meeting was
held on March 4, 1986 for the purpose of discussing alternative
solutions to prevent the demolition of the structure located at
873-75 Powell;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That Ordinance No. 85-69 passed on July 9, 1985 be amended
to remove the structure located at 873-75 Powell from the demolition
list.
Section 2 .
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 3 .
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
