ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN AMENDMENT
TO THE PROJECT PLAN AND FINANCING PLAN AND
AMENDING THE BOUNDARIES OF REINVESTMENT ZONE
NO. 1 , CITY OF BEAUMO NT, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, on November 13, 1985, the Board of Directors of
Reinvestment Zone No. 1 , City of Beaumont, Texas, approved an
amendment to the Project Plan and Financing Plan and approved an
amendment to the geographic boundaries of the zone; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to approve such
amendments;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That the Project Plan and Financing Plan for Reinvestment
Zone No. 1 , City of Beaumont, Texas, as set out in attached Exhibit
"A" entitled "Downtown Reinvestment Zone Strategy" be and the same
is hereby approved.
Section 2 .
That the boundaries of Reinvestment Zone No. 1 , City of
Beaumont, Texas, be and the same are hereby amended as shown in
Exhibit "B" attached hereto.
Section 3 .
The City staff is hereby authorized to take all steps
necessary to acquire property in accordance with the Project Plan
//- J/-F-1,-
and Financing Plan for Reinvestment Zone No. 1 , City of Beaumont,
Texas.

Downtown Reinvestment Zone Boundaries
Beginning at a point where the southeast right-of-way line of Wall Street
intersects the southwest right-of-way line of Trinity Street for the Point
of Beginning of the herein described tract;
Thence northwest along the southwest right-of-way line of Trinity Street to
a point where the southwest right-of-way line of Trinity Street intersects
the northwest right-of-way line of Bowie Street;
Thence northeast along the northwest right-of-way line of Bowie Street to a
point where the northwest right-of-way line of Bowie Street intersects the
southwest right-of-way line of Park Street;
Thence northwest along the southwest right-of-way line of Park Street to a
point where the southwest right-of-way line of Park Street intersects the
southeast right-of-way line of Crockett Street;
Thence southwest along the southeast right-of-way line of Crockett Street
to a point where the southeast right-of-way line of Crockett Street inter-
sects the southwest right-of-way line of Neches Street;
Thence northwest along the southwest right-of-way line of Neches Street to
a point where the southwest right-of-way line of Neches Street intersects
the west right-of-way line of Janes Street;
Thence north along the west right-of-way line of Janes Street to a point
where the west right-of-way line of Janes Street intersects the north
right-of-way line of Liberty Street;
Thence east along the north right-of-way line of Liberty Street to a point
where the north right-of-way line of Liberty Street intersects the west
right-of-way line of Willow Street;
Thence north along the west right-of-way line of Willow Street to a point
where the north right-of-way line of Willow Street intersects the north
right-of-way line of Broadway Street;
Thence east along the north right-of-way line of Broadway Street to a point
where the north right-of-way line turns northeast, thence northeast along
the northwest right-of-way line of Broadway Street to a point where the
northwest right-of-way line of Broadway intersects the northeast right-of-
way line of Main Street.
Thence southeast along the northeast right-of-way line of Main Street to
a point where the northeast right-of-way line of Main Street intersects
the north right-of-way line of the abandoned Hickory Street;
Thence east along the north right-of-way line of the abandoned Hickory Street
to a point where the north right-of-way line of the abandoned Hickory Street
intersects the southwest right-of-way line of the Port Exchange Yard (Santa
Fe and Southern Pacific Railroad tracts) ;

Thence southeast along the southwest right-of-way line of the Port Exchange
Yard to a point where the southwest right-of-way of the Port
Exchange Yard intersects the southeast right-of-way line of the abandoned
Wall Street;
Thence southwest along the southeast right-of-way line of the abandoned Wall
Street to a point where the southeast right-of-way line of Wall Street inter-
sects the southwest right-of-way line of Orleans Street;
Thence continuing southwest along the southeast right-of-way line of Wall
Street to a point where the southeast right-of-way line of Wall Street
intersects the northwest right-of-way line of Trinity Street, being the
Point of Beginning.
